Who we are

Unmortgageable is operated by SaaSquatch Ltd, a web development agency based in London. We built this site to help UK homeowners understand mortgage options — not to harvest your data.

What we collect

When you use the Unmortgageable quiz, we collect:

• Email address — so we can send your personalised mortgage report
• Postcode area (first half only, e.g. BL3) — for regional sunlight and tariff estimates. We never store your full postcode or address.
• Quiz answers — electricity bill range, roof direction, roof type, homeownership status, and what you are interested in (panels, batteries, etc.)
• Marketing consent preference — whether you opted in to receive updates
• UTM parameters — so we know which channels are working (e.g. utm_source, utm_medium)
• Device type — mobile or desktop, for improving the quiz experience
• Quiz completion time — to help us identify where people get stuck

Why we collect it

We use your data to generate a personalised mortgage report tailored to your situation. If you give us marketing consent, we may also send occasional updates about market changes, new guides, or useful mortgage content. That is it. No cold calls, no selling your details.

Where your data is stored

Your data is stored in Supabase, an EU-hosted PostgreSQL database. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. We use Resend to deliver emails — they process your email address solely for delivery and do not use it for any other purpose.

We do not share your personal data with any other third parties.

Cookies

We do not use tracking cookies. When analytics are added, we use Umami, a privacy-respecting, cookieless analytics platform that does not track individuals or require consent banners.

Affiliate links

Some links on Unmortgageable are affiliate links to Amazon Associates and Sunstore. These links track clicks via URL parameters managed by those platforms. We do not share your personal data (email, postcode, quiz answers) with Amazon, Sunstore, or any other affiliate partner.

Your rights under GDPR

As a UK or EU resident, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
• Correct — ask us to fix inaccurate data
• Delete — ask us to permanently remove your data
• Withdraw consent — unsubscribe from marketing at any time via the link in every email

To exercise any of these rights, email hello@unmortgageable.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Data retention

Quiz responses are retained for 2 years from the date of submission, then automatically deleted. You can request deletion at any time by emailing us — we will remove your data within 30 days of your request.

Children

Unmortgageable is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 16 years of age.
